The device costs quite bit of money and after awhile it gets used quite often. Having an out of order Kindle or a Kindle that is all scratched up is something that no Kindle owner ever asks for.

You can purchase many types of covers for your Kindle. They even make these cool decals you can stick to your Kindle for decoration and mild protection. These are both great options. Laptop manufacturers first offered this type of warranty.  A type of warranty that goes above and beyond what normal warranties cover.  The reason for this is that if you make a common folly and spill you coffee on your laptop, your out a couple grand. Therefore, the birth of the Extended Warranty came.

All Amazon Kindles are covered by a 1 year warranty against manufacturer defects.  If you get attacked by Chuck Norris and he roundhouse kicks you and your Kindle drops on the floor, to bad so sad.  Your Kindle is worth squat and you have to buy another one.

With the 2 Year Extended Warranty offered by Amazon for an extra $65, you get 1 extra year of warranty that covers manufacture defects, bringing the total to 2 years.  You do have to purchase the warranty within 30 days of purchasing your Kindle Reader.  You also get a 1 time replacement of your Kindle in the event of a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick.  You also get free shipping of your Kindle to Amazon and for your replacement back to you. $65 bucks for that piece of mind probably is not too bad of a deal, however annoying it is to purchase.

The Extended Warranty for the Kindle is not actually provided by Amazon, but a third-party company called Service Net Solutions.  This is common practice in the electronics business to have a 3rd party provide the extended warranties.  I checked them out and they seem to actually have great ratings among people who have had to use them, also common among these types of companies.

These headphones sound wonderful.  The noise cancelling technology is the best I have ever heard, the sound quality is fantastic, and they feel extremely comfortable sitting on my head.  The bad things about these headphones is the quality of plastic seems to be cheap, and user reviews will verify that.  Also they are bulky and a little pricey.     $269

Sony makes great headphones also.  They seem to be well built and always feel very comfortable.  I like the idea of having my ear totaled covered by a head phone when I am in a noisy environment and trying to read a book.  The noise cancellation feature is said to work great.    $193.03

Unlike the previous models, these are earbuds.  They do have a noise cancelling feature that is supposed to be awesome.  The price is right and sometimes lugging around a full headset is too much.     $55.95
